ANNUAL ITALIAN DINNER

ANNUAL ITALIAN DINNER

Your Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Foundation is always prepared – even when it comes to the nightmare situation of a potential Line of Duty Death. To ensure that the families of our Brothers and Sisters are taken care of in the event of a loss, we must raise funds year-round to protect the futures of what historically are known as our “Widows and Orphans.”

To raise funds, every January we host an Italian Dinner featuring homemade specialities created by our President, Chef Advil and his lovely wife Catherine. This annual event sells out every year – before tickets even go on sale! If you’ve ever had the opportunity to attend, you’re still raving about the antipasto salad, the Chicken Parmesan, giant meatballs, and cannoli – all while supporting a tremendous cause. The evening includes an emotional slideshow of members we’ve lost over the years, and well as presentations to families present.

The funds help support the annual trip of LODD families to the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado to see their Fire Fighter’s name added to the memorial wall. The IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, located in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, honors the sacrifice made by IAFF members who have given their lives in the line of duty. The annual ceremony remains an uplifting service for the families, friends and loved ones, celebrating the lives, heroism and accomplishments of our union’s bravest of the brave. Last year alone, the IAFF added 574 names to the wall.
